These ESCAPE PROOF Houndstown dog harnesses are being sold as a fundraiser for PVCA Rescue, a registered Canadian charity that supports the work of the SPCA Puerto Vallarta. As of Oct/23 $3082 has been donated (including proceeds from sales of The Harness Lead).
We all love dogs here at Distance Runwear and Meghan & Dave also foster dogs. An escape proof harness is so important for newly adopted dogs but they are hard to find.
The Houndstown Safety Harnesses are designed for and best fit sight hound type bodies. (For a harness that does adjust enough for a stockier build please look at the Kerbl escape proof harnesses that we sell.) The harnesses are made from smooth flat 1" nylon, with all exposed edges turned outward for ultimate comfort. Features an over-the-head design, adjustable shoulder, chest, and yoke straps, and a third waist strap for the highest in safety.
The third band is REMOVABLE, so it can be used when needed, and removed when not! Perfect for new dogs unsure of their new living situation and dogs who may be fearful in certain conditions such as crowds but fine on their neighborhood walks.
They feature a soft yet durable nylon, through-dyed for long lasting color fastness, and "Box-X" stitched over welded and cast hardware and are made in the USA.
We recommend either hand washing with a product such as Woolite, or simply tossing the collar or leash into a lingerie bag and using the delicate cycle. Lay flat to dry.
The black dog in the photos (a young Galgo from Spain) has a white Tractive GPS device on the harness. Also a good idea for a newly adopted dog.
Sizing options are suitable for medium to extra large dogs.
Small: 20"-27" Chest Girth (ie Whippet size)
Medium: 23"-31" Chest Girth (ie Galgo size)
Large: 26"-36" Chest Girth (ie Greyhound size)
We are not able to bring in more of this product. All of the Houndstown harnesses left in stock are at our Vancouver location.
If you come into either of our locations please ask for this product as it may not be on display. Also if you have your dog with you there is often a shop dog at the North Vancouver store. If your dog needs it's own space please just ask our staff member if the dog is there and we can ensure that she remains upstairs during your visit, however both of our locations are small spaces and weekends can be busy.
